The Good Intent Hose Co. #1, Llewellyn, was started in 1886 and later disbanded. The fire department as it is current was formed in 1907 and chartered, August 28th 1908. The grounds were provided by the old Philadelphia and Reading, Coal & Iron Company on a 99 year lease at a $1 per year.
