Grace Center for Adult Day Services is the only adult day services program in Corvallis and surrounding area and has been serving the community since 1983. Created by a Grace Lutheran Church Task Force in 1982, Grace Center became an independent, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) corporation in 1983, governed by a community based Board of Directors including physicians, nurses, gerontologists, social workers, attorneys, finance and business experts, and many other talented and dedicated volunteers. The Center realized a long-time dream in 2006, moving into a spacious renovated facility of their own, with the help of Samaritan Health Services (leasing space and providing much of the renovation), and donated funds from many individuals, businesses and foundations. This also allowed for an expansion of programs serving those needing post-rehabilitation services and those needing help with memory loss. The Center's caring professional staff provide a therapeutic daytime program of physical, mental, and social activities as well as health monitoring and care management. Morning beverages, a nutritious lunch and an afternoon snack are provided. A warm, home-like environment allows participants to enjoy a variety of activities in a safe and comfortable setting.

What Skills Does a person Need at Grace Center?

At Grace Center, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Leadership: Knowledge of and ability to employ effective strategies that motivate and guide other members within our business to achieve optimum results.
  2. Initiative: Taking decisive action and initiating plans independently to address problems, improve professional life, and achieve goals.
  3. Planning: An act or process of making or carrying out plans. Establishment of goals, policies, and procedures for a social or economic unit city planning business planning.
  4. Customer Service: Customer service is the provision of service to customers before, during and after a purchase. The perception of success of such interactions is dependent on employees "who can adjust themselves to the personality of the guest". Customer service concerns the priority an organization assigns to customer service relative to components such as product innovation and pricing. In this sense, an organization that values good customer service may spend more money in training employees than the average organization or may proactively interview customers for feedback. From the point of view of an overall sales process engineering effort, customer service plays an important role in an organization's ability to generate income and revenue. From that perspective, customer service should be included as part of an overall approach to systematic improvement. One good customer service experience can change the entire perception a customer holds towards the organization.
  5. Futures: Futures are derivative financial contracts obligating the buyer to purchase an asset or the seller to sell an asset at a predetermined future date and set price.
