Thank you for your interest in Granite Pathways, a peer-support, self-help community in Manchester, NH that eliminated social isolation and provided hope, dignity, and recovery opportunities to adults with serious mental illness. Granite Pathways operated according to the clubhouse model of psychosocial rehabilitation, an evidence-based practice that achieves superior wellness and employment outcomes. Granite Pathways received no public funding and operated for 5 years (2010 to 2015) solely through the generous support of private donors and grant makers. Our hope was that by demonstrating better outcomes at lower costs, the state of NH would embrace the model and contribute a share of the funding to keep it sustainable. Granite Pathways grew to 268 members, 86 of whom were active participants. 55% of our active members were employed in the community at large. Regretfully, the state of NH, unlike 36 other states that fund the clubhouse model, has confirmed that no change is in site. Regretfully, Granite Pathways discontinued operations as of December 31, 2015 due to the lack of financial sustainability. We continue to hope that change will come in NH for adults with mental illness seeking to sustain wellness and employment opportunities.
