Since 1958, Handi-Ramp has been manufacturing ramps for wheelchairs. Following the death of its founder, the company was on the brink of bankruptcy by 1995. When Thom Disch, President and CEO took over, he recognized the growth opportunity presented by the legal requirements of The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which had been enacted in 1991, and the prospective demand from the needs of the aging of the baby boomer generation. Disch took Handi-Ramp and created a solutions company. Handi-Ramp is the oldest manufacturer of ramps in the world and the only company that custom manufacturers any product to suit our customer's needs using materials fabricated in the United States.
