Heywood, Cari and Anderson, S.C. traces its roots back to June of 1945 when John D. Heywood established a sole practice above the drug store in downtown Hudson, Wisconsin. Mr. Heywood practiced almost completely solely until 1955 when Kenneth Hayes and William Hess joined the firm giving rise to Heywood, Hayes and Hess. Mr. Hess left the partnership in 1959, and the firm Heywood and Hayes practiced until 1974. Then, Mr. Heywood practiced alone until Samuel R. Cari joined the firm in 1977. Their partnership existed until Mr. Heywood's death in 2001. Despite his passing, Mr. Heywood's name remains a part of the firm which he started over a half century ago. The firm continued under the name Heywood & Cari until associate Christopher M. Anderson became partner in 2002. The firm continued to grow when Ryan C. Cari became a partner in 2005 and Philip A. Helgeson joined the firm as associates in 2007. Robert (Bob) Wall, a long-time Hudson attorney, has associated with the firm in an Of Counsel capacity.
