The Institute for Innovation in Government Technology (IIGT) was founded by Dr. Allison Frazier Jackson in 2004. It was derived from a family trust honoring our grandfather, Emmett L. Frazier, Sr. a member of the Fighting 369th of New York and New Jersey. The Harlem Hellfighters or Men of Bronze were known for their bravery, integrity, dedication, humor and commitment to democracy, in the face of overwhelming odds during World War I. We plan to imitate their dedication through activities provided by IIGT, especially their efforts to improve how African-Americans, Native Americans, Hispanic (people from the Iberian Peninsula) and Latino (people from the brown indigenous people of the Americas, e.g., Mexico, Central America, and South America) were treated by governments. They were also motivated to learn other languages, cultures and economic systems to advance their families and their commitment to democracy. The unique tactics employed by our ancestors will be used, along with other new methods to transition change programs for people of all races. From this modest beginning, colleagues and family members , most notably, Charles "Steve" Dawson, C. James Trotman, PhD, Christina Chan, M.D., Robert Latham, PhD, Anna Domurat Thomas, William Janeway, George Newman, Carol Feltes, Stanley Katz, PhD, Ed Burns, Mark Forman, Eric Vinson, Carl Jackson, Jr., Carl Jackson, Sr. and Holly Jackson --- contributed their ideas, suggestions, recruited other executives and helped the family refocus on developing a new Foundation with a global mission to provide public benefit, while honoring the beliefs of our ancestors.
