When IPM Voice was formed, its initial focus was to educate policymakers on the many benefits of IPM, to prevent proposed cuts to key federal IPM programs and to continue expanding the economic, environmental and health benefits IPM has provided for more than 45 years. We envisioned a growing organization, building capacity to educate both consumers and policymakers about the benefits of IPM. In 2016, IPM Voices focus will shift towards changing the conversation about agriculture and food systems to tell a new, more complete story about how they work and why theyre important to consumers, citizens and policymakers throughout the US. To do this, IPM Voice is partnering with Red Tomato, the Frameworks Institute and others to develop a communications and framing platform that will be used by multiple collaborators to translate the complex scientific discussions around healthy agricultural systems into digestible and resonant messages which can be disseminated by multiple partners to as broad an audience as possible. During the one-year planning phase now beginning, project leaders will work to recruit more partners from the organic and sustainable food and ag communities, and begin to document the untranslated technical story of more sustainable food production from experts in the field. What is IPM Voice's mission? Our mission is making IPM intelligible and valuable to the world including the public, the grower community and lawmakers. Our core purpose is to strengthen IPM communities by adding effective communication to the IPM toolbox. Are donations to IPM Voice tax deductible? IPM Voice is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in Washington DC. Contributions to IPM Voice are tax deductible in accordance with section 170. What does IPM Voice hope to achieve?
