The Opportunity: As the Broadcast Engineer/North Central Operations Lead, you will oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of eight radio broadcast systems and associated radio studios, supporting Northwest Public Broadcasting (NWPB) and the Edward R. Murrow College of Communications (MCC). You will also assist other NWPB engineering team members with the remaining 30 stations across Washington, Idaho, and Oregon, under the direction of the Broadcast Chief Engineer. Your key responsibilities will include maintaining studio-to-transmitter links, satellite downlinks, Emergency Alert Systems, telemetry systems, and other broadcast-related components to meet QOS standards and comply with FCC and FAA guidelines. You will manage complex systems including IP-based radio, FM (including HD/digital FM), and AM radio transmission, satellite downlinks, emergency standby power configurations, central routing and processing infrastructure, and related computer-based monitoring and control.
