Legal counsel for small residential mortgage origination company--only attorney in our legal/compliance team. Company is in Houston, TX, but this position can be remote with quarterly travel to the office. As our sole in-house attorney, you must have a strong background in contracts, general corporate and mortgage regulatory areas and willing to learn other areas of law quickly, as needed. Typical responsibilities include: Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of contracts, communicate areas of concern with suggested solutions, and participate in negotiating resolutions; this includes, but is not limited to, vendor, confidentiality, loan sale/broker agreements, employment agreements and real estate and equipment lease agreements.
