In 1958, Marina Mechanical was founded in San Leandro by Robert Hussey and named W/C Sheet Metal & Furnace Co. In 1964, BART construction relocated WC Sheet Metal from Parrot Street to Marina Blvd. It was during this move that Mr. Hussey decided to change the name of the company to Marina Heating and Air Conditioning. Within the next 10 years, as the popularity and need for air conditioning grew, Marina Heating and Air Conditioning built a solid reputation for installing high quality comfort systems in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties. Then, in 1971, Jim Hussey (Bob's son) joined the firm to promote Marina's growing service department. After leading Marina's service department for several years, Jim Hussey founded a Controls Group. This company had two missions, 1. To design and install HVAC control systems that maximized energy efficiency and 2. To prove that a company that treats employees and customers with honesty, integrity, and respect would be a success. Bay Point Control achieved both goals and by 1990, Bay Point was a successful control and automation company as well as a solid HVAC service and retrofit contractor.
