Definition / General Purpose: Under the general direction of the Grounds Superintendent, the Maintenance Technician assists in the planning and organizing of work activities and provides general maintenance support for City buildings and facilities. Assists with ensuring scheduled maintenance is completed and coordinates projects with the Grounds Superintendent. This position trouble shoots and performs minor electrical repairs such as resetting breakers, replacing light bulbs, minor plumbing repairs such as leaking valves, unstopping drains, etc. General carpentry such as changing locks on doorknobs, hanging doors, repairing sheetrock, painting and other miscellaneous repairs as required. SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Works under the general supervision of the Grounds Superintendent.
