Apex Systems is looking to hire a Database Engineer in Southlake, Texas. This is a long-term, contract role. Analyzing performance and identifying areas for improvement (such as in the stored procs, etc.) . Creation of any database-related performance scripting. Assist with moving our Test Data Management practices forward, mining/creating test data, etc. via K2View. Must have methods for problem solving, have strong database experience, including index strategies, performance tuning and optimization and stored procedures. Must be able to create reports and write complex statements for large scale databases. Needs to be a good communicator (both written and verbal), be able to plan technical solutions, be self-motivated and have the ability to meet tight deadlines. 5+ years of experience as database administrator/programmer Expert-level knowledge of MySQL databases, including performance monitoring and tuning Expert-level knowledge of SQL language (MySQL) AWS knowledge (especially Aurora DB) Good command of the English language Knowledge of MS Entity Framework / SQL Alchemy or any other ORM Knowledge of Python (NET/C# will be a big plus) Knowledge of NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB, MongoDB) will be a plus Exposure to Power BI and its integration with databases will be a plus
