Mt. Carmel is focused on attracting care partners and their services to our location in order to enhance the variety of health and wellness services available to our local community. We are proud to announce the addition of two new partnerships in recent months to include Catholic Charities, with their Safe Care and Bright to Three programs, and Nurse Family partnerships. Some previous and ongoing programming and campus partnerships to mention include Health Solutions (formerly know as Spanish Peaks Behavioral Health), Bi-County Health Department, Hot Yoga on Main, March of Dimes, school districts, city and county management, Sangre de Cristo Hospice, Trinidad State Junior College, Autism Support, Sayre Senior Center, Trinidad Inn and Legacy Assisted Living Center. Over the next six months, efforts to encourage non-profit and for-profit health care alternative care providers to join our mission by leasing space within The Center of Healthy Living will heighten. Those we serve have already found significant benefit from the ability to access a number of services on one campus. Our newest projects include the development of an urgent care facility on Commercial Street in downtown Trinidad. Together with New Journey Health Care of Texas, Mt. Carmel Health, Wellness and Community Center is in the planning stages of this new endeavor. This urgent care walk-in clinic will focus on the delivery of ambulatory care in a dedicated medical facility outside of a traditional emergency room. Injuries or illnesses requiring immediate care, but not serious enough to require emergency room visit will be attended to at the site. The Mt. Carmel Urgent Care Clinic will operate in collaboration with Mt. Carmel Primary Care. It will be open extended hours 7 days per week and provide a full array of urgent services. The plan is for this new site to be ready to serve our community early 2016. None of this would be possible without our dedicated staff and volunteers.
