PAD Escuela de Dirección is Universidad de Piura's School of Management. It was founded in Lima in August 1979 with the support of IESE Business School (Spain) and IPADE Business School (Mexico). Universidad of Piura is based in the cities of Piura and Lima and comprises seven schools: Education, Management and Economics, Communication, Law, Humanities, Engineering, and Medicine. It has more than 7,000 students at undergraduate level and around 1,000 participants at postgraduate level. The first programme offered by the School was the Advanced Management Programme ('Programa de Alta Dirección'), aimed at the most important leaders and businessmen in the country. The programme was very successful and highly regarded by the business and academic communities in the country to the extent that it was decided that the Management School should be named after the acronym of this programme. The first MBA programme at PAD started in Piura in 1991, the first executive MBA was launched in Lima in 1996 and the doctoral programme in management started in 2010. The executive education programmes were gradually incorporated since the early years of the School.
