Patio Drugs is the only full service pharmacy based home medical equipment provider and homecare pharmacy in the area to be accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO) . Today, we are accredited in Home Medical Equipment Management, Homecare Pharmacy Services, Clinical Respiratory Services and Home Infusion Therapy. Over the years, Patio Drugs has grown. The care of 1,400 homecare patients is entrusted to the staff of Patio Drugs by physicians, home health agencies, hospices and numerous healthcare practices throughout the greater New Orleans area. Patio Drugs is not a home health agency, but a homecare pharmacy networking team. Interfacing with home health agencies, hospital discharge planners, social workers, physician's offices and even other pharmacies, Patio provides the best in pharmacy services. The staff of 70+ individuals including pharmacists, technicians, patient services representatives, DME service technicians, delivery personnel, customer service staff and support personnel make up the Patio Drugs Healthcare Team. An experienced group of Medicare, Medicaid and private insurance experts handle the billing needs of the patients. The owners of Patio Drugs Healthcare are John F. DiMaggio and Daisy Guitart. John has worked in healthcare for the last 34 years and has been a pharmacist for 27 years. Daisy has been a pharmacists for 12 years and together they have owned Patio Drugs for the past ten (10) years. John DiMaggio is an adjunct professor of pharmacy at Xavier University and has twice been named preceptor of the year by the pharmacy students of that College of Pharmacy.
