The City of Paxton Election will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 at the Paxton Agriculture Building, 21972 US Hwy 331 N, Paxton, FL. The polls will be open from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. All voters registered in the city limits of Paxton are eligible to vote in this election. ADA voting equipment is available upon request. Voting Machine and Ballot Testing: The voting machines and ballots to be used in the City of Paxton Election will be tested on Thursday, July 30, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. in the Office of the Supervisor of Election in the Walton County Courthouse at 571 US Hwy 90 E, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433. All canvassing board meetings are open to the public. Vote-by-Mail ballots: Ballots to be mailed may be requested at Paxton City Hall or by calling (850) 834-2489. The last day to request is August 10, 2020 before Canvassing: The ballots will be canvassed at Paxton City Hall after 7:00 p.m. on election day. The options that were given to the City are to widen the current highway to 4 lanes, and include a median, bike lanes and sidewalks; or to bypass Paxton beginning at Wain Huckabee Rd. going east (in front of Quiet Lake) and reconnecting with U.S. 331 at the Alabama State line.
