Model Shop Machinist Duties/Responsibilities: Must have firsthand knowledge of the manufacturing capabilities in milling, turning, grinding, heat-treating, brazing, and general shop math. Required to work from drawings or prints or to do precision work and will be partly or fully engaged in setting up and operating the following machines and engage in these disciplines: Lathes, CNCM and CNCL, milling machines, precision grinding machines, saws, heat-treatment of tool steels, basic fixture design with little or no engineering assistance, and basic shop math skills that will allow for advanced master programming of CNC controlled machines.
