Originally founded as a hospital in 1948 on Memorial Drive in Cambridge, Sancta Maria was well known in greater Boston as the Red Sox hospital because so many members of the teamincluding Ted Williams, Tony Conigliaro, and Walt Dropowere cared for at Sancta Maria. The hospital was relocated to the present site in 1968, and converted to a skilled nursing facility in 1989. As a former hospital, our facility is fully-equipped and offers a number of built-in amenities not commonly found in nursing homes, such as a central oxygen system, comprehensive nursing stations on each floor and on-site examination rooms. This added functionality, along with some of the additional services located on-site, often provides enhanced levels of convenience to our residents.
