The firm was started in the mid-1940's by Harry Olson. Harry was known as a great trial attorney who was able to persuade juries. In the late 1940's, Harry was joined by Fred Palmer. Fred was a large and gregarious man who specialized in trial work, and was active in the legal community. Fred was a delegate to the American Bar Association and served as President of the Washington State and Yakima County Bar Associations. J.W. "Bill" McArdle joined the firm in the early 1950's after graduating from Gonzaga University's law school. Bill served as a pilot in the United States Army Air Force during World War II, and was shot down in both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. Bill had a general legal practice and did some insurance defense work. Like Harry, Bill also served as President of the Yakima County Bar Association. Bob Willis joined the firm after serving as a Yakima County Superior Court judge for 22 years. Bob represented the Ahtanum Irrigation District for many years and did other general practice work. The next to join the firm was G. Thomas Dohn. Known for his fiery disposition and energy, Tom represented Allstate and the Grange Insurance Company in the Yakima area for many years. Having grown up in Union Gap, Tom was widely and highly sought after attorney. Jerry Talbott came along in 1973 and gradually developed a practice in immigration law. "Mr. Yerry," as he is affectionately referred to by some of his clients, has represented many of the Hispanic families in the Yakima Valley, and he has become known as the dean of immigration lawyers in Central Washington. Jeff Simpson graduated from Washington State University, where he excelled academically. Jeff continued his academic achievements in law school by finishing high in his class at the University of Washington. After law school, Jeff moved to Yakima to get back to Eastern Washington and out of the rain.
