Since 1998, Team Read has served nearly 16,000 elementary, middle school and high school students. In May 2015, the Team Read Board of Directors approved the 2015-2020 Strategic Growth Plan which was driven by our commitment to double the number of students we serve by 2020. The plan includes expanding Team Read in Seattle and in partnership with other districts. There are still hundreds of Seattle second and third graders who could benefit from the support of Team Read, and demographic shifts in the region mean that many of the students Team Read would have served in Seattle have moved into neighboring school districts. Team Read partnered with Highline Public Schools to launch a pilot program for the 2016-17 school year. Hazel Valley Elementary was chosen to host the first Highline Team Read program. Teen reading coaches were recruited from the Evergreen Campus High Schools (Arts & Academics Academy-AAA, Health Sciences and Human Services High School - HS3, and Technology, Engineering and Communications High School - TEC).

What Skills Does a person Need at Team Read?

At Team Read, specify the abilities and skills that a person needs in order to carry out the specified job duties. Each competency has five to ten behavioral assertions that can be observed, each with a corresponding performance level (from one to five) that is required for a particular job.

  1. Product Development: Overseeing the creation of new products or improvement of the performance, cost, or quality of existing products to achieve business goals.
  2. Agile: Agile is a development process where feedback is continuously gathered from users to create the best user experience.
  3. VMware: Applying the VMware software to develop multiple virtual computer systems within a single server.

Similarly, product lifecycle management (PLM) integrates people, data, processes and business systems. It provides product information for companies and their extended supply chain enterprise. The role may consist of product development and product marketing, which are different (yet complementary) efforts, with the objective of maximizing sales revenues, market share, and profit margins. Product management also involves elimination decisions. Product elimination begins with the identification of elimination candidates, proceeds with the consideration of remedial actions, continues with a projection of the impact on the business as a whole if a candidate product is eventually eliminated, and concludes with the implementation stage, where management determines the elimination strategy for an item. The product manager is often responsible for analyzing market conditions and defining features or functions of a product and for overseeing the production of the product. The role of product management spans many activities from strategic to tactical and varies based on the organizational structure of the company. To maximize the impact and benefits to an organization, Product management must be an independent function separate on its own.
  5. Analysis: Analysis is the process of considering something carefully or using statistical methods in order to understand it or explain it.
