Summary The Laboratory Phlebotomist (LP) is a member of the hospital lab, responsible for properly obtaining and processing patient specimens for the purpose of testing those specimens. In addition, the phlebotomist may also be trained on testing and reporting CLIA waived testing to the health care professional. The LP will determine which specimens need to be referred on to the main MLHS laboratory or to a designated reference lab. The Laboratory Phlebotomist will also maintain a clean, well-stocked work area. Job Duties Able to successfully process orders, properly identity patients with 2 identifiers, and procure blood samples from all age groups.
