GREEN BAY, Wis. (WFRV) - Dozens of walks across northeast Wisconsin rely on participants to raise money. At the heart of these fundraisers are thousands of people doing the right thing. That includes "Team Survivor" lead by captain David DeGroot, one of the top cancer fighters in the region. "We were just playing [cribbage] and said what should we do to raise money? We looked at each other and said duh why don't we do a cribbage tournament" DeGroot says with a laugh. It is just one way "Team Survivor" raises money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. "The research they do, because it is a blood cancer, impacts so many other kinds of cancer" explains David's wife Linda. This year the team is adding a golf outing to the calendar of events. Planning these outings is no easy task. "It takes patience and a lot of work" David says. He is always in fundraising mode, proudly wearing team apparel to draw attention to the cause. But, it is something David can not take off that starts the most conversations. "There are two scars on my head" he explains. David was diagnosed with a form of lymphoma in 2011. "There is a 95% chance my cancer could come back. I have been in remission for 2.5 years now and doing what we can to find a cure, because I do not want it back" he says. According to Linda "If we can help them fund the next researcher, fund the next study that they are going to do. Whatever it takes to find a cure". Anchored by the DeGroots "Team Survivor" is consistently the top fundraiser at Light the Night - Fox Valley. "We raised $6,000 one year and last year we raised over $8,000. This year our goal is over $10,000" David explains. "I could not be more proud of him" Linda says. "Just the way that he has attacked this with such a positive attitude". The couple knows these grassroots fundraisers could lead to a cure if his cancer returns. "Every day you wake up and go is today the day? Nope, but if it is, it is whatever God has got planned" David says. The cribbage tournament is taking place Saturday, April 23 at ...

  3. Photography: Photography is the art, application and practice of creating durable images by recording light or other electromagnetic radiation, either electronically by means of an image sensor, or chemically by means of a light-sensitive material such as photographic film. It is employed in many fields of science, manufacturing (e.g., photolithography), and business, as well as its more direct uses for art, film and video production, recreational purposes, hobby, and mass communication. Typically, a lens is used to focus the light reflected or emitted from objects into a real image on the light-sensitive surface inside a camera during a timed exposure. With an electronic image sensor, this produces an electrical charge at each pixel, which is electronically processed and stored in a digital image file for subsequent display or processing. The result with photographic emulsion is an invisible latent image, which is later chemically "developed" into a visible image, either negative or positive depending on the purpose of the photographic material and the method of processing. A negative image on film is traditionally used to photographically create a positive image on a paper base, known as a print, either by using an enlarger or by contact printing.

Also, the word "publisher" can refer both to an individual who leads a publishing company or an imprint and to an individual who owns/heads a magazine. Traditionally, the term refers to the distribution of printed works, such as books (the "book trade") and newspapers. With the advent of digital information systems and the Internet, the scope of publishing has expanded to include electronic resources such as the electronic versions of books and periodicals, as well as micropublishing, websites, blogs, video game publishers, and the like. Publishing includes the following stages of development: acquisition, copy editing, production, printing (and its electronic equivalents), marketing, and distribution.
