Wonderland Avenue School was founded in 1927. Nestled in Laurel Canyon, it has been a beloved neighborhood school for decades. To ensure that all children reach their maximum potential, Wonderland Elementary School provides an articulated, standards based core curriculum, including the arts, that enhances critical and creative thinking in a community that fosters respect and responsibility. Wonderland Avenue School is honored with the highly coveted California Distinguished School Award. Our consistently high API (Academic Performance Index) test scores rank Wonderland #2 among all LAUSD elementary schools. The 2011 API score is 975. Wonderland Avenue School consists of two programs, and students in either program can take advantage of the many activities that Wonderland offers: 1) Wonderland's neighborhood school offers a kindergarten and grades 1-5 to students living in the school's neighborhood. To find out if you live within the home school boundaries, click on the BOUNDARIES MAP. 2) Admission to the Gifted / High Ability Magnet is open to all LAUSD students who apply, qualify and are selected to participate. The Great Schools, Inc. website provides our school's annual test scores and feedback from parents. You are welcome to visit our school during school hours. You must be buzzed in at the front entrance to be admitted during those hours. Once inside, please walk directly to the office to sign in. Once registered, you will receive a visitor's sticker that must be worn while on campus.
