About this unit: The MCS/ECMO department (Mechanical Circulatory Support) is a small department, comprised of approximately 30 RN & RT staff. Our staff comes with a variety of experience from the neonatal, pediatric and (adult) cardiothoracic intensive care units. Team members are responsible for maintaining heart and lung support devices on the most critically ill patients. We support pre- and post-transplant (both heart & lung) patients, as well as post-cardiac arrest, pulmonary illness (COVID, influenza, RSV) and congenital heart defect patients.
