Requirements and Responsibilities

Order Fulfillment Director directs and oversees the order fulfillment process. Responsible for staff whose duties include order entry, administration, and shipping. Being an Order Fulfillment Director establishes processes for order tracking, maintains updated customer contact information, and monitors contracts or agreements for expiration or renewal. Ensures adequate inventory levels are maintained to maximize customer satisfaction and minimize cost. Additionally, Order Fulfillment Director may act as a liaison with sales or customer service regarding ship dates or inventory levels. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to top management. The Order Fulfillment Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be an Order Fulfillment Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience.
