Requirements and Responsibilities

PC Support Manager provides for overall personal computer support. Studies and projects PC resource requirements including personnel, software, equipment, and facilities and makes recommendations to management. Being a PC Support Manager requires PC system hardware experience in a LAN environment, strong understanding of Windows operating systems, experience with all Microsoft Office Products as well as troubleshooting experience and understanding of PC e-mail. Provides for the training of department staff and end-users. Additionally, PC Support Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. May require a bachelor's degree of Computer or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The PC Support Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a PC Support Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.
