Human Resources Director plans and oversees human resources functional operations, including talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, training, employee relations, safety, and compliance. Administers human resources programs and policies to reflect the organization's mission and values, support company goals, achieve objectives, and positively engage the workforce. Being a Human Resources Director maintains broad and current subject matter knowledge and expertise in federal and state employment laws to advise leadership with solutions for human resources issues and evolving organizational needs. Implements an HRIS or other system to facilitate processes and provide data and reporting on HR activity. Additionally, Human Resources Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Human Resources Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Human Resources Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Position Summary:
    The Human Resources Business Partner is responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management for designated BrightView sites. The position formulates partnerships across the HR function to deliver value-added service to management and employees that reflect BrightView’s business objectives. This includes, but is not limited to, administering policies, maintaining employee records, and employee relations. This role works closely with HR leadership relating to strategic staffing plans, training, development, and the core values and mission of BrightView.
    Essential Job Duties:
    • Conducts weekly meetings with respective Operation Directors of respective sites
    • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate.
    • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR team to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
    • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough, and objective investigations.
    • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the VP of HR and legal counsel as needed/required.
    • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
    • Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
    • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation.
    • Identifies training needs for sites and individual coaching needs.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.

    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
    • Willingness to travel to regional sites as needed
    Work Environment:
    This job operates in a professional office environment with occasional travel to BrightView centers. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.
    Physical Demands:
    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.
    Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
    This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and may occasionally require some weekend work.
    Required Education/Degree:
    Bachelor’s degree or Equivalent
    Required Certification/License:
    SHRM-CP or PHR Preferred
    Required Experience:
    3 years of proven Human Resources experience
