Associate Financial Aid Director assists in the operation of the financial aid program. Instructs students and parents on the application for loans or scholarships. Being an Associate Financial Aid Director maintains records of scholarships, grants, and other monetary assistance. Has knowledge of available private, state, and federal financial aid programs. Additionally, Associate Financial Aid Director typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the Financial Aid Director. The Associate Financial Aid Director manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. The Director of Financial Aid is responsible for the management and administration of the Office of Financial Aid and its functions, including but not limited to accounting operations, budget preparation, preparation of Federal, State and institutional reports, maintenance of Federal fund budgetary controls and regulatory compliance, and the delivery of funds and services to students. The College uses Ellucian Banner Student Information System to manage and award financial aid. The Director provides leadership and direction for the delivery and coordination of federal, state and institutional student financial aid programs; coordinates and oversees audits, compliance reviews and account reconciliations and ensures institutional compliance with relevant regulations and statutes. Additional responsibilities include: supervision of full-time staff; counseling students and parents; representing the College at community and system wide programs; participation in various internal and external committees. The Director also works closely with other campus personnel to support registration, enrollment management, and the recruitment and retention efforts of the campus. The position reports to the Vice President for Enrollment Management within the Division of Enrollment Management.

This title is in Appendix A of the SUNY Policies of the Board of Trustees and, as a consequence, incumbents serving in this title are not eligible for permanent appointment (tenure), but instead receive renewable term appointments.
