  • Farmingdale State College is seeking a dynamic and experienced Audio-Visual Support Manager to lead the Audio Visual (AV) Services team within the Information Technology Services department. The Audio-Visual Support Manager will be responsible for the support, repair, maintenance, and management of audio-visual systems and services across the campus, ensuring high-quality audio and visual experiences for various college events, classrooms, and presentations.

    AV Systems Maintenance:

    • Oversee the maintenance and repair of audio-visual systems in classrooms, lecture halls, event spaces, and meeting rooms.
    • Regularly assess and evaluate the need for upgrades to AV equipment in conjunction with the Manager of AV Engineering to ensure compatibility with emerging technologies and industry standards.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead and supervise AV technicians & Student Workers. Providing guidance, training, and support to ensure the effective operation of AV services.
    • Foster a collaborative and customer-focused culture within the AV team.

    Event Support:

    • Collaborate with event planners and academic departments to provide comprehensive AV support for conferences, seminars, and other college events.
    • Ensure timely setup, testing, and troubleshooting of AV equipment for events.

    Technical Support:

    • Serve as the primary point of contact for troubleshooting and technical support related to AV systems.
    • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs for AV equipment to minimize downtime.

    Budget Management:

    • Assist in the development of the AV budget, including equipment purchases, maintenance costs, and upgrades.
    • Monitor and manage expenses to ensure fiscal responsibility and cost-effectiveness.

    Training and Documentation:

    • Develop and conduct training programs for end-users on the proper use of AV equipment.
    • Maintain up-to-date documentation for AV systems, configurations, and troubleshooting procedures.

    Job Requirements:


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
    • 5 years' experience within an educational environment.
    • Proven experience in managing audio-visual systems in an educational or similar setting.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
    • Technical proficiency in AV equipment, control systems, and signal processing.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students.
    • Familiarity with emerging trends and technologies in the AV industry.

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Master's degree in a related field.
    • 10 years' experience within an educational environment.
    • Extron and/or other AV industry certifications.
    • Proficiency in programming AV systems.
    • Experience with both PC and MAC operating systems and hardware.

    Additional Information:


    This is a full-time UUP position.

    • For the first 10 working days, beginning Thursday, March 7, 2024, and ending Wednesday, March 20, 2024, applications will be limited to UUP Farmingdale.

    • SALARY: $68,000 $3,087 in downstate location pay = $71,087 Total Compensation.
