Benefits Director oversees the development, implementation, administration, and maintenance of benefits programs, policies, and procedures. Ensures programs are chosen to be equitable, meet employee needs, comply with legal requirements, and to be cost effective. Being a Benefits Director establishes practices for evaluating existing benefits programs against peer organizations to determine competitiveness, trends and developments. Makes high-level decisions to modify existing benefits programs or institute new ones. Additionally, Benefits Director requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS). Typically reports to top management. The Benefits Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Benefits Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.      Job Duties and Responsibilities:

    • The Director of Nursing will coordinate of resident care with a “hands on” management style
    • The DON has strong organizational skills
    • The Director of Nursing will develop, review, and revise nursing and clinical policies 
    • The DON will conduct employee performance evaluations and disciplinary situations to ensure quality care of residents
    • The Director of Nursing has the ability to multi-task
    • The Director of Nursing has the knowledge of Long Term Care Regulations
    • The DON has the ability to lead in the recruitment of qualified staff by conducting interviews
    • The Director of Nursing has the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
    • The Director of Nusing has the ability to focus on customer service and collaboration with other departments to develop, support, and coordinate patient care and related functions
    • The DON will promote an atmosphere of respect, professional growth, and encouragement for all nursing staff members and assure regulatory standards and company goals are met or exceeded
