Chemical Plant Operator jobs in Bangor, ME
Chemical Plant Operator controls equipment and systems that process chemical substances and materials into products. Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Plant operator duties include operating a forklift or other equipment to load or move materials to supply production areas with needed materials. This would also include load and/or unload trucks, railcars or other containers. Put away materials, track inventory, and complete necessary paperwork. There is an expectation that all work is performed in accordance with Company safety and environmental policies and procedures. GAC will provide all necessary training. Must be able to work any scheduled shifts (AM/PM; occasional Sat/Sun for OT).
