Operates equipment and monitors the production process to ensure efficient and safe output. Being a Chemical Plant Operator follows standard operating procedures and performs in process quality checks to identify and resolve issues during processing. Troubleshoots problems with equipment, respond to system notifications and makes required adjustments as needed. Additionally, Chemical Plant Operator enters required production data and information into logs. May unload or move materials. Follows all procedures for safe material handling and required safety gear. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or team leader. The Chemical Plant Operator works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Grace is seeking a Chemical Operator for our South Haven Site. The South Haven Site produces a portfolio of products for the specialty pharmaceutical industries, specifically Active Pharmaceutical Intermediates. Consisting of a cGMP kilo lab, pilot plant and custom manufacturing at the commercial volumes, the site is fully equipped to develop and manufacture custom drug intermediates and API's.South Haven is nestled on the Lake Michigan Coast with beautiful beaches and fun year-round.
A Chemical Operator mechanically prepares production materials for packaging and shipment through centrifugation, drying, milling, compaction and classification using prescribed cGMP practices. Tends tumble dryers, mills, classifier, compactors and centrifugal extraction equipment. Completes proper documentation of all steps taken in the process. This title reports to the Operations Supervisor. Starting wage is $22.25 per hour with room for advancement.
