    Position Overview:

    Reporting to the CEO, the Director of Community Expansion will primarily focus on leading expansion efforts to bring new communities onboard to our client’s services and drive growth and impact across communities in Ohio.  This role offers a unique opportunity to leverage your community networking skills and influence to make a tangible difference in the lives of residents and businesses.

     

    This role will be based out of the Solon, OH office, with frequent (40-60%) travel throughout Ohio.


    Responsibilities:

    • Expansion Planning Strategy: Develop and implement strategic prospecting plans to bring new communities onboard to secure membership to the organization’s services.
    • Partnership Development: Cultivate and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including local government officials, community leaders, and other influencers, to promote NOPEC's membership benefits and total value proposition.
    • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify and prioritize market prospects, competitive landscape, and potential growth opportunities for NOPEC's energy aggregation programs.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with internal teams to coordinate company resources to ensure alignment of expansion efforts with overall organizational goals and objectives.
    • Outreach and Education: Work with Marketing team to develop and implement outreach campaigns, events, and educational programs to increase awareness and understanding of NOPEC's energy programs and benefits to new communities.
    • Performance Monitoring and Reporting: Use key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the success of expansion initiatives and provide regular reports and analysis to senior management on progress, challenges, and opportunities.
    • Team Leadership and Development: Lead a team of community expansion professionals, including external resources and individuals contracted by NOPEC and/or supply chain partners. Provide guidance and support to meet objectives.


    What You Will Need:

    • 6 years of experience in community engagement, business development, or related roles, preferably within the energy industry or public sector.
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, Master’s preferred
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence diverse stakeholders, including elected officials.
    • Strategic thinker with a track record of developing and executing successful expansion strategies that lead to increased membership.
    • Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
    • Knowledge of energy markets, regulations, and trends is desirable.
    • Commitment to NOPEC's mission and values.
