Compensation Manager leads the development, implementation, and administration of compensation programs, policies, and procedures. Manages common compensation functions, including survey participation, job evaluation, salary structure development, incentive plan design, pay program administration and other associated initiatives. Being a Compensation Manager ensures that base pay, incentive pay and performance management programs remain competitive and conform to current compensation strategy. Directs data collection and analysis processes for market, pay equity, and other compensation studies. Additionally, Compensation Manager requires a bachelor's degree. May require a Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Compensation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Compensation Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Workers Compensation Claims Coordinator

    This position is responsible for over-site of the professional administration and communication of the agency’s employee incident/injury management program, including administration of worker’s compensation benefits, and return to work. 

     

    Core Responsibilities 

    • Coordinates and oversees the agency’s Self-insured worker’s compensation program. 
    • Corresponds with physician offices to determine employee work-eligibility.
    • Coordinates and oversees employee Leave of Absence related to worker’s compensation. 
    • Coordinates and oversees agency Light and/or Modified Duty program.
    • Confers with department heads regarding employee injury reports and worker’s compensation leaves of absence.
    • Investigates accidents to ascertain causes for use in recommending and developing preventative safety measures. 
    • Compiles settlement requests for executive leadership approval based on recommendations of counsel and the carrier. 
    • Compiles, analyze and interpret statistical data related to exposure factors concerning occupational illnesses and accidents. 
    • Measures and evaluates effectiveness of safety program, using established goals.
    • Present and/or facilitate trainings and information sessions to new and seasoned employees on various safety-related topics.
    • Oversees the agency’s Safety program.
    • Oversees Worker’s Compensation Specialist.
    • Oversees the OSHA logs and appropriate filing of required OSHA reports.

     

    Qualifications

    • Associate’s Degree preferred, in Risk Management, Occupational Health, Case Management or related field.
    • Two years of experience in medical finance, case management, insurance processing, risk management or related field.
    • Must have a valid NYS Driver’s License.
