Position Summary

The Program Director reports to the Chief Operations Officer and oversees the daily operations of assigned  programs.  Responsibilities include supervision, discipline and training of all assigned staff, monitoring program implementation, monitoring maintenance issues, and ensuring youth receive all appropriate medical, educational, and treatment services.  This position will also help to meet the needs of the YOC’s primary customers:  youth, families, courts, Juvenile Probation Department, Department of Child Services, and the schools.  Leadership skills are required, as the Program Director must be able to recognize issues/concerns and provide appropriate accountability and follow up for team members.  Knowledge of YOC programs, YOC policies and procedures, contract requirements, DCS service standards, accreditation standards, and standards set forth by other governing agencies is essential. 

Key Duties:

• Leadership and supervision of assigned staff 
• Training, mentoring, teambuilding
• team meetings, individual supervision, performance evaluations, and discipline, as needed
• participates in an on call rotation to offer guidance and direction, as needed, after hours
• Program Development and Implementation
• maintains knowledge and understanding of evidence based treatment interventions
• helps assess program effectiveness and makes recommendations for change
• oversees program implementation
• ensures quality treatment services and interventions are implemented with youth and families
• Compliance
• Maintains knowledge of YOC policies and procedures, contract requirements, DCS service standards, accreditation standards and any other regulations set forth by other governing agencies and ensures compliance
• Oversees required documentation to ensure quality and timeliness
• Customer Service
• Ensures consistent communication with families, placing agencies, courts, and schools
• Addresses problems/concerns and seeks positive resolution

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE NEEDED
Master’s degree (or in progress of completing a Master’s degree)  from an accredited university with connected knowledge in social services and at least 2 years of supervisory experience. Experience leading teams and facilitating trainings is required.
