Curriculum Specialist designs and develops training programs, curriculum, methods, and materials for various audiences, including employees, managers, customers, or other learners. Conducts skill assessments and collects input to identify training or development needs, goals, gaps, and requirements. Being a Curriculum Specialist consults with subject matter experts to define learning objectives and to design appropriate course content and training curriculum. Develops curricula supporting defined competency models or skill frameworks. Additionally, Curriculum Specialist writes and edits outlines, syllabus, lecture notes, and materials for in-person or online courses and self-study programs. Evaluates the software or collaboration tools to be selected for training. Establishes metrics to use to evaluate training effectiveness. May collaborate with vendors that provide training materials or conduct training. May coach trainers. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Curriculum Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. BASIC SKILLS TEACHER & SUPERVISOR OF CURRICULUM
Dennis Township Schools is seeking a dedicated and innovative individual
to serve as our Basic Skills Teacher and Curriculum Supervisor
Purpose
Provide leadership and vision in developing, implementing and evaluating Dennis Township instructional services and curriculum and to offer instruction that will contribute to excellence in student development
Qualifications
Salary Range $75,000 - $105,000 dependent upon qualifications and experience
Valid NJ Standard Certificate for Teacher and NJ Standard Certificate or Certificate of Eligibility for Supervisor/Principal or School Administrator
Master’s Degree in related area from an accredited college/university
Experience as Supervisor, Principal or Central Office Administrator preferred
Minimum five (5) years experience teaching at Primary, Elementary or Middle School level
Ability to implement the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
Ability to plan a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of all students
Experience in developing, implementing and evaluating instructional services for all students
Experience in creating, planning and evaluating curriculum and instructional materials
Strong skill set in interpersonal relations, communications, problem solving and organization
Such alternatives to the above that the Board of Education finds to be appropriate and acceptable
Terms of Employment
This is a twelve month position with compensation to be negotiated with the Superintendent and approved by the Board of Education.
