Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Information Technology to lead our IT department. The ideal candidate will be an active IT participant and oversee the company's technology operations, strategies, and initiatives to ensure the effective management and delivery of IT services. The Director is to ensure IT systems and people are effective and functioning within the limits of budget, time, and specifications of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement IT strategies and initiatives aligned with the company's objectives.
- Manage IT projects, and resources effectively.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Lead a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and disaster recovery plans are in place.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand their technology needs and provide solutions.
- Consult senior level stakeholders to identify business and technology needs and the ways in which to optimize the use of information technology.
- Stay updated on emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation within the organization.
- Identify vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades and opportunities for improvement
- Oversee hardware, inventory and the processes to track equipment
- Manage company network, hardware and software programs
- Identify the need for upgrades, configurations or new systems and report to upper management.
- Make recommendations and implement efficient and cost-effective technological equipment and software.
- Control budget and report on expenditure.
- Manage the IT team including Manager, Developers, Support Technicians and vendors.
- Provide IT team direction, guidance, training and support.
- Assist in building relationships with vendors and creating cost-efficient contracts.
KSAs:
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
- 10 years of experience working in IT operations, supervising technology teams, and overseeing large Information Technology projects.
- Exceptional understanding of computer systems, security, network and systems administration, databases and data storage systems and telecommunications systems
- Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications.
- Strong knowledge of DevOps practices and tools.
- Hands-on experience with MySQL, ASP.NET, JDBC, Visual Studio, IntelliJ, SQL, AIML, HTML, C , Java, Javascript, C# Python and VBA.
- Proficiency in managing Active Directory services.
- Knowledge of best computer security practices.
- Excellent decision-making, analytical, management and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with teams across the entire organization.
- Ability to explain highly technical concepts it all types of learners.
- Strong knowledge of project management principles (PMP) and time management skills.
- Understanding of cloud computing platforms and services.
- Expertise in managing IT infrastructure and networks.
- Ability to develop business continuity plans for IT operations.
- Strong negotiation skills for vendor contracts and project agreements.
- Knowledge of network infrastructure design and management

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.
- CISSP certification or equivalent preferred
