    responsibilities:

    • Actively promote safe work practices, including conducting monthly safety meetings and audits throughout the mill.
    • Supervise operating staff and train new employees.
    • Inspect the entire plant and related areas to ensure safety, efficiency, and normal operating conditions.
    • Coordinate with the Maintenance Manager for external maintenance and construction work, reviewing blueprints as necessary.
    • Plan and coordinate operational work distribution and budget requirements.
    • Schedule and oversee the maintenance of boilers, pumps, mechanical equipment, and other systems.
    • Prepare reports for regulatory agencies in coordination with the Environmental Manager.
    • Ensure all personnel are trained in and adhere to safety protocols.
    • Manage procurement of tools, equipment, and supplies for the Steam Plant.
    • Recruit, onboard, and train employees, providing ongoing development opportunities.
    • Set expectations, provide feedback, and evaluate employee performance to maintain quality standards and deadlines.
