Field Service Manager manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Manager oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Manager develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Field Service Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Field Service Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     HOERBIGER Safety Solutions, IEP Technologies (IEP) is now hiring for an Assistant Field Service Manager to join the team in our Marlborough, Massachusetts office. IEP designs explosion protection solutions, manufactures explosion prevention components, and supports customers across the country with responsive service to prevent and/suppress industrial explosions.

    This position works with the Field Service Manager to manage Service for the North America Region and support the Field Service Engineers and IEP Customers. Overall responsibilities include: forecasting parts and service needs, scheduling of Field Service team, invoicing Service Calls, managing RMAs for warranty and regular customer communication regarding parts/service/contract renewal.

    This position works a Hybrid schedule – 3 days in office, 2 remote each week. Occasional travel possible (<10%).

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Manage scheduling of new installations, Emergencies and International Service
    • Provide technical assistance to customers and distributors
    • Daily invoicing of all contract service calls and PO billings
    • Supervise team of three staff
    • Manage SAP/SAP FSM/ESM data
    • Assist with Monthly Forecast for Parts and Service
    • Monthly customer emails for Parts and Service
    • Create/maintain Policy & Procedures for Parts and Service
    • Manage RMA’s for warranty replacement
    • Assist with lapsed customer and contract renewal calls

    Qualifications
    • Minimum of three years’ experience in a field service management role or equivalent experience
    • Bachelor’s in Business Management or equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Working knowledge of Control Panels, Pressure Detectors, IR Detectors and similar equipment
    • Strong technical skills. Functional knowledge/experience working with SAP ERP system, including experience with SAP FSM and ESM modules. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
    • Excellent communication and listening skills (verbal/presentation/email/text/chat/technical reports)
    • Must have proven Time Management and Problem Solving skills
    • Self-Motivated, Accountable
