Group Branch Manager manages the financial and service performance of a defined group of retail branches in a geographic area. Establishes the strategy, specific goals, and performance levels required for each branch to meet the organizational objectives for the region. Being a Group Branch Manager monitors and analyzes financial and customer activity to understand needs, identify issues, and provide the tools and resources needed to achieve goals. Leads business development and promotional activities in the area and coaches branch managers in tactics to build customer relationships, increase sales, and enhance the bank's presence in the community. Additionally, Group Branch Manager typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Group Branch Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Group Branch Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Typical days and hours for this position : Monday-Thursday, 8 : 30am-5 : 30pm; Friday, 9 : 15am-6 : 15pm; evenings and weekends as needed.

    Examples of Work Performed

    • Conducting community outreach and building community relations in the branch service areas.
    • Maintaining onsite supervision and management of the assigned branch locations.
    • Ensuring consistent, high quality service delivery from the assigned branch location.
    • Developing and overseeing programs and services that meet the evolving needs of community residents within the branch service area.
    • Implementing activities in support of the Library’s strategic plan as it relates to service from branch locations.
    • Implementing process improvement techniques to provide continuous improvement as it relates to branch operations and work processes.
    • Resolving operational issues and customer concerns in a timely manner.
    • Selecting, scheduling, training, supervising and coaching staff assigned to the branch location.
    • Recommending library materials collection additions to fulfill needs and expectations of branch users.
    • Coordinating assigned activities with other branches and sections of the Library.
    • Actively participating in work of the Library’s supervisory team.
    • Collaborates across library divisions to ensure a strategic approach to library services.
    • Position will be required to travel to different work sites. Reliable personal transportation is required.

    Requirements of Work

    • Thorough knowledge of library principles, methods, practices, and materials.
    • Thorough knowledge of books, authors, and reader interests.
    • Knowledge of standard computer keyboard configurations and ability to access, interpret, and record information using a video display terminal and electronic keyboard.
    • Knowledge of counseling, interviewing and personnel procedures.
    • Ability to effectively plan, organize, and supervise the work of others.
    • Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with associates, representatives of outside agencies, and the public.
    • Ability to analyze problems and recommend measures to bring about a solution.
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, orally, in writing, and / or by whatever creative means are necessary to cross communication barriers.
    • May require ability to acquire and maintain a valid Kansas driver's license.
    • An employee shall not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of other individuals in the workplace.

    Required Experience and Training

    Graduation from an American Library Association accredited institution with a master's degree in library science.

    Three years of professional library experience is required

    Supervisory experience is preferred.

    Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred

    • Possesses a strong working knowledge and use of Microsoft operating system and software, Internet software and media applications, digital technologies, android, iOS, and other software.
    • Possesses ILS systems experience, preferably Polaris / Leap.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need of a sponsorship.
