Help Desk Support Assistant responds to end-user requests for technical assistance by phone, email, or ticketing system. Troubleshoots and resolves basic computer, application, system, device, access, or performance issues. Being a Help Desk Support Assistant uses established processes and procedures to document, track, and resolve reported problems and to meet operational service levels and standards. Utilizes product information or solution database to research, troubleshoot, and deliver solutions. Additionally, Help Desk Support Assistant advises users on the methods, steps, and actions to resolve and avoid future issues and provides documentation as needed. Escalates problems to appropriate levels or teams to achieve issue resolution. May support installs or upgrades of software or devices, set up user profiles, or re-set passwords. Fulfills all service level standards for response time and quality. May require an associate degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Help Desk Support Assistant works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job.     RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

    • Provide technical and navigation support for KASPER and KPUP end-users.
    • Compile data in Microsoft Excel based on completed queries or ad-hoc queries from the Office of Inspector General (OIG).
    • Assist with duplicate deletions and other database clean-ups.
    • Resolve login issues for end-users using a Single Sign-On Security application.
    • Create new documentation upon request.
    • Troubleshoot application issues, escalate to the development team when required, and track issues to resolution.

    PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE IN THE BELOW:

    • At least 2 years' experience in Customer Support (call center environment preferred but not required).
    • At least 2 years' experience in providing technical support in a help desk environment.
    • Familiarity with ServiceNow or similar help desk ticketing systems.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft M365 Product Suites (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams).
    • Experience with a variety of web browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, etc.).
    • Familiarity with a variety of computer Operating Systems, including various versions of Windows.


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of relevant work experience.
    • Proficient problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent phone etiquette skills, including the ability to remain professional during challenging situations, effective listening, and completing scheduled call backs.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information to various audiences.
    • Detail-oriented, able to multitask, and self-motivated.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members.
