Instructor - Chemical Engineering teaches courses in the discipline area of chemical engineering. Develops and designs curriculum plans to foster student learning, stimulate class discussions, and ensures student engagement. Being an Instructor - Chemical Engineering provides tutoring and academic counseling to students, maintains classes related records, and assesses student coursework. Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Chemical Engineering typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.     EDUCATION
    Bachelor’s degree or higher in Science, Natural Science, Engineering, Technology or in a related field required. Master’s preferred.

    EXPERIENCE
    Minimum of one (1) year of college level teaching experience or three (3) to ten (10) years of related work experience required.

    Experience with operation and methods for analytical instruments such as: GC (essential), AA/ICP, FTIR, GC-MS, UV/Visible, HPLC, GPC, and automatic titrators

    Experience with supervision/training of lab technicians, development of curriculum and instructional materials, instruction at college-level preferred

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
    Possess the ability to work in a diverse work environment

    Willing and able to teach day or evening classes at a number of sites around the city

    Knowledge and skill in a variety of computer usage and software are required

    Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse professional, community, and student population

    Possess good organizational and planning skills

    Demonstrate sensitivity to students with diverse academic, socio-economic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds and students with disabilities

    Demonstrated ability to inspire and motivate students in a learning-centered environment

    Self-disciplined and able to effectively manage others
