Collaborates and supports colleagues regarding research interests and co-curricular activities. Additionally, Instructor - Physics typically reports to a department head. Has a Master's degree or is a PhD candidate in the applicable field. Has experience and is qualified to teach at undergraduate level and possesses the qualifications to participate in research.   • Lanier Technical College – (www.laniertech.edu) is gearing up for increased student enrollment for both Summer Semester (beginning May 20th) and Fall Semester (beginning August 12th).     POSITION: ADJUNCT PHYSICS INSTRUCTOR – Different Campus Locations Available

    REPORTS TO: General Education Program Chair

    SALARY: Targeted salary is paid in a lump sum based on contact hours

    TARGET START DATES:   SUMMER SEMESTER - MAY 20TH, 2024

                                                 FALL SEMESTER - AUGUST 12TH, 2024

    RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    Adjunct faculty responsibilities are centered on preparing and teaching classes as assigned:

    ·         Provides professional instruction based on approved course syllabus. Ensures that desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives;

    ·         Prepares curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught;

    ·         Evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives;

    ·         Administers and grades class examinations;

    ·         Maintains records of student grades;

    ·         Attends in-service training, workshops and seminars, as needed;

    ·         Ensures safety and security requirements are met in the training areas;

    ·         Meets ALL required deadlines assigned by Supervisor;

    ·         Meets with students, staff members, supervisors as needed.


     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    A Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university with 18 graduate semester hours in Physics. NOTE: Please upload your unofficial transcript(s) or we will be unable to consider you further for this position.

    Skill in presenting subject matter
    Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress

    Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners
    Oral and written communication skills
    Knowledge of student information systems

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to minimum qualifications and competencies):

    Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level;

    Experience with online teaching platforms

    This position is available at all Lanier Tech campus locations; day and evening classes available. 

    NOTE: Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment that are appointed on a per-academic-term basis.
