Accountant – Job Description

Full Time

Our company is currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing financial tasks and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations. We are looking for a candidate who is proficient in financial software, knowledgeable in financial concepts, and has experience with technical accounting practices.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for timely premium accounting and/or commissions processing and reconciliations. This is inclusive of the entire agency lines of coverages – Commercial Insurance, Personal Insurance, Employee Benefits, and Surety.
• Handling of agency receivables and tracking
• Handling of agency payables and tracking
• Perform general ledger activities and balance sheet reconciliations
• Compile and analyze financial and operational data.
• Prepare various financial reports and regulatory filings.
• Serve as main point-of-contact for banking activities.
• Work closely with agency-hired CPA firm.
• Document and maintain client files in agency management system
• Comply with Agency Procedures & Adhere to agency service standards and timelines
• Utilize agency technology and software applications including agency management systems, document management systems and workflows
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting preferred or regular work experience

· General knowledge of independent agency insurance transactions

· Minimum of 2 years in an accounting role

· Strong analytical skills

· Able to multi-task efficiently in a fast-paced environment

· Detail orientated and organized

· Demonstrated proficiency in basic computer applications such as Microsoft Office software products.

· Ability to work without close supervision.

· Knowledge of AMS360 preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
