Candidate will:
- The team members who fulfill this role are responsible for tracking a referral once received from beginning to completion in all internal systems, email and pharmacy communication to support discharge onto service including completing any no-go processes as appropriate and all pharmacy checklists and welcome packets.
- Write up patient intake forms with basic demographic, insurance, therapy and disease state information and enter into our systems in a timely manner.
- Search for and prioritize pertinent available information in patient portals of referral source systems, such as Epic.
- Collaborate with members of sales, pharmacy and billing teams
- Communicate with patients, healthcare providers, clinics and insurance companies to collect information.
- Comfortable with an on-call rotation with other referral coordinators to ensure uninterrupted patient care.
- Collect patient insurance information.
- Communicate to patient any insurance coverage concerns and issues, therapy details or answer patient questions regarding coverage details for both new and existing patients.
- The team members who fulfill this role are responsible for checking benefits and eligibility for home infusion, enteral and specialty biologic therapies.
- Create and prepare cost agreements for services.
- Ensures authorizations are obtained for services.
Requirements:
· High school graduate or general education degree (GED).
· Two (2 ) years of patient insurance verification and authorizations, medical billing, pharmacy technician or similar experience
· Home Infusion experience preferred
· Have a basic understanding of working in a healthcare setting
Language Skills:
· Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
· Additional languages preferred.
Skills:
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Exceptional customer service skills.
· Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instruction furnished in written, oral and diagram form.
· Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in particular situations.
· Professional demeanor to interact with clients, insurance companies and referral sources.
· Computer proficiency, medical terminology and knowledge of insurance
· Ability to thoughtfully prioritize tasks with a focus on accomplishing goals.
