SUMMARY: Responsible for planning and purchasing activities related to manufactured products. Design planning and purchasing strategies that balance production and inventory levels with product demand to support customer requirements. Ensure production plans support the company’s overall strategy; production is organized according to demand and quality standards; and manufactured items are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner. Lead the manufacturing team in system implementations.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Provide leadership and/or support for the timely, efficient execution of Radians manufacturing projects and initiatives.
• Implement robust systems which allow for the dynamic nature of production requirements and development.
• Drive the production planning processes to ensure products are manufactured in the most efficient manner at the lowest cost.
• Develop and implement production plans that balance the use of resources while meeting customer demand.
• Analyze production demand to determine how to fully utilize production capacity across all Radians manufacturing facilities.
• Ensure materials used in manufacturing are purchased at a reasonable cost, within budget, and delivered on time.
• Identify suppliers, negotiate purchase agreements, and manage vendor relationships.
• Coordinate interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, inventory control and product development to ensure smooth flow of materials and information.
• Analyze data to identify trends and recommend process improvements.
• Ensure adherence to quality standards and health and safety regulations.
• Prepare reports for upper management.
• Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers.
• Develop contingency plans for disruptions in supply or demand.
• Develop and manage project plan for the manufacturing activities related to ERP implementation ensuring key milestones are met.
