Litigation Manager provides guidance and advice to a staff of paralegals or legal assistants involved in prosecuting or defending lawsuits. Monitors timelines and work progress to ensure work is completed on time. Being a Litigation Manager conducts new hire and ongoing training sessions. Requires a thorough knowledge of the organization's products/services. Additionally, Litigation Manager requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to the top legal executive/general counsel. The Litigation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Summary


    This role will work closely with a lead attorney and litigation paralegal. Successful candidates will be responsible for areas including but not limited to the following.


    Responsibilities



    • Perform administrative duties, such as scheduling calendar hearings and deadlines, organizing case files, and managing logistics

    • Maintain pleadings and discovery indexes

    • Organize exhibits, documents, evidence, briefs, and appendices

    • Implement and improve administrative processes for more efficient workflow

    • Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation

    • Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts

    • Research regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice

    • Manage client billing by preparing, finalizing, and sending out bills, as well as resolving billing issues in cooperation with the billing attorney

    • Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions

    • Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems

    • Provide general administrative assistance, such as maintaining the attorney’s calendar and making travel arrangements


    Qualification



    • High school diploma or GED

    • Associate’s Degree in Paralegal Studies, Bachelor’s Degree, or a Paralegal Certificate (preferred)

    • Experience in Personal Injury, Workers Compensation, Premises, First Party or other injury related practice areas (preferred)

    • At least 2 years of experience as an Administrative Assistant preferably in a law firm setting or in a corporate legal department.

    • Highly organized with the ability to multitask, prioritize, handle a fast-paced environment, and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including good presentation skills
