Litigation Manager provides guidance and advice to a staff of paralegals or legal assistants involved in prosecuting or defending lawsuits. Monitors timelines and work progress to ensure work is completed on time. Being a Litigation Manager conducts new hire and ongoing training sessions. Requires a thorough knowledge of the organization's products/services. Additionally, Litigation Manager requires a bachelor's/master's degree. Typically reports to the top legal executive/general counsel. The Litigation Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Senior Business/Civil Litigation Attorney - Remote

    This is a growing litigation and family law group focused on serving California individuals and businesses.

    Description of the Position:

    Primary duties will include: handling business litigation and other civil litigation cases such as breach of contract claims, real estate disputes, real property disputes, construction defect disputes, employment law disputes, etc., meeting with clients, drafting pleadings, administering depositions, propounding and responding to discovery, conducting research, writing motions, making court appearances, arguing motions, participating in trials, interviewing witnesses, drafting agreements, negotiating settlements, attending mediations, and arbitrations, handling civil litigation cases and other activities requested by the partners.

    Requirements:

    • Must be a licensed California attorney
    • Excellent academic credentials.
    • Strong work ethic and reliability are a must.
    • Exemplary client service skills with prompt response levels at all times.
    • Desire to make court appearances, argue motions, and participate in hearings
    • 10 years of experience as a licensed attorney.
    • Detail-oriented with strong drafting and negotiating skills and the ability to communicate legal subject matter to non-attorneys.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, business judgment and strategic legal thinking.
    • Ability to manage workflow independently to meet firm deadlines while achieving business and risk management objectives.
    • Courtroom experience preferred but not a prerequisite.
    • Knowledge of the Code of Civil Procedure
