Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Who We Want:
The Materials Supervisor is the front line of materials leadership at the plant level. Their purpose is to oversee all operations within their area (zone). The Shipping Group Leader is responsible for ensuring that Safety, Quality, Delivery and Production efficiencies meet the standards and expectation of internal and external customers. Supervisors are also morale builders and are responsible for creating a positive work environment for all employees.
When and Where:
This will be a B Shift / 6PM- 6AM TUE- FRI position located at our Plant in Holland MI.
What You Need to Have:
- High School Diploma or GED (required)
- Three to five years' experience in a supervisory position (required)
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree (preferred)
- Previous materials/shipping experience in a manufacturing environment (preferred)
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation.
