POSITION: Marketing Manager
REPORTS TO: VP Business Development and Marketing
OPPORTUNITY OVERVIEW:
The Marketing Manager is responsible for how the world views and perceives D&P as well as managing efforts for internal marketing to grow a positive company culture. Creativity and good judgement are a must for this position.
- Managing D&P’s advertising, web site, social media, holiday giveaways, press releases and participation in trade events.
- Collaborate with sales to create proposals with new and existing materials.
- Supports proposal creation with new materials that influence and enhance existing collateral.
MARKETING RESPONSIBILITIES:
Lead/Manage/Communicate/Collaborate/Influence
- Supports the strategy and manages the execution of marketing and campaign plans to support the company’s larger strategic plan through communication, collaboration and influence.
- Review incoming RFP’s and prepare an overview briefing of the opportunity for senior management.
- Maintain a high-level understanding of trends within the museums and their related industries (design, display cases, etc.).
- Partners with marketing, sales, and executive staff to develop objective performance measurements for identified programs, to ensure consistent, high-quality evaluation and goal setting for marketing endeavors.
- Create and enhance company marketing materials including project portfolios and boilerplate documents.
- Organize and direct all company photography efforts and maintain the photo library and company archives.
- Provide presentation updates on marketing efforts, project status reports, Sales Dashboard and the company’s list of opportunities and results.
- Ensure that RFP Leads, MuseumInsider, and SAM.gov are reviewed daily.
- Expand company community service efforts and other community engagement opportunities.
RESPONSIBILITIES SPECIFIC TO CLIENT PROPOSALS:
- Developing proposal outline with the VP Business Development and Account Executive
- Collaborating with subject matter experts, write, layout, and edit custom proposal documents.
- Manage and monitor incoming sub-contractor proposal materials.
- Lead, coordinate and manage the exchange of information with supporting roles such as estimators/purchasing
- Responsible for the quality and accuracy of final proposals.
- Ensure delivery of proposal including hand delivery or late-night delivery to FedEx location.
- Knowledge of ACCESS or ACT.
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS:
Five years of experience in the museum exhibit industry and/or a degree in Museum Studies or a related design field.
A thorough understanding of the museum exhibit industry is a must as is proposal writing experience.
Working knowledge of the FAR and government proposal requirements is a bonus. Expert level skills in Access, PowerPoint, Visio, Word, Excel, Project, and Adobe Acrobat Pro are required. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop a plus.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's or advanced degree in museum studies, journalism, writing, communications, or a related design field.
